UPDATE: The work mentioned below is now complete – August 23, 2018
Per direction by TDOT, Rogers Group has begun performing spot paving to improve sections of the pavement along the Peavine Road construction project. The spot paving will not cover the entire length of the project, but is intended to repair those areas that are rutting or have been previously patched.
Rogers Group, Inc. began paving on August 17, with a plan to finish by August 18; however, inclement weather has delayed this and should be finished today (August 22) or tomorrow.
The plan will be to begin at the start of the project and proceed to the other end paving identified sections in that lane as they are reached. When the paving is completed in this lane, the train will turn and begin paving in the opposite direction. Traffic will be placed in one lane via flag persons. The one lane operation will move with the paving train as it proceeds through the project. The paving will begin on Friday at approximately 8 am and will proceed until approximately 6 pm. Saturday paving will begin at approximately 7 am and will proceed until completed. Drivers on Peavine can expect delays while the paving is taking place. Alternates for out bound trips are Westchester, Shorty Barnes or Cherry Branch to Chestnut Hill Road. For in bound trips alternate will be Chestnut Hill Road to access one of the afore mentioned roads. Message boards on the project will be programmed to advertise proposed paving and to expect traffic delays. TDOT and Rogers Group, Inc. appreciate cooperation & patience while this work is being performed.
